David Stubbs has written a lovely review of Dimensions of Tomorrow in  The Wire Magazine. You can check it out in the August Issue. Transcribed below:

"Based in Austin, Texas, from where he runs the Quiet Design label, Cory Allen aka Datalove releases his debut album Dimensions Of Tomorrow, whose solid, hiphop backbeats are saffron tinged with samples of Indian film scores, Turkish psychedelic rock, Persian funk, jazz, lounge and esoteric soul. These are in evidence on opener “Cash And Curry” and “Hang Up!”, while the resounding harpsichord strains of “Heavy Silence” are reminiscent of some long lost John Barry TV theme excavated and restored. The sources may be familiar but they’re neatly embedded, rather than fluttering on the edge of the beats. That sheer, slow-cooked absorption of ingredients into the warp and grain of his sound is what makes him one of the Tomorrow people."

To celebrate the release of Dimensions of Tomorrow, The Strange Agency has made a special Datalove edition of their Slice iPhone app. With this app you can shuffle/remix exclusive loops from Dimensions of Tomorrow and make your own versions of some choice cuts. The app is free and you can download it in the iTunes App Store.

My first album as Datalove, Dimensions of Tomorrow is now available. This LP offers up 15 original tracks which draw samples from Indian film scores, Turkish psychedelic rock, Persian funk, deep crate soul and jazz, lounge, and impossibly rare library records. All of these exotic samples, along with live Moog and synth performances, come together within the structure of hip hop to create a unique blend of sound and rhythm.
